Excel Shopping List

When you go grocery shopping, the items on the list are 9 times out of 10 written when the need arose, so when you get to the store and you are not
foresighted, you often have to "run" back and forth before the list is complete and it is also easy to miss an item. So I made this Excel sheet
with macros to fix the problem. All the items that you usually buy are written into the sheet in the order they appear in the store. These can then be marked
with a number and saved in a text file that is printed and you then only need to go around the store once. The same shopping list can be used in different stores by creating
different store lists where the same items appear but in different order.

Screen dump of a list. (This is the Swedish version but this download is all in English:

Various settings can be saved on the next sheet.:

Before the list can be used:
1a: Start by downloading the empty Excel file and save it in a location of your choice, preferably in a new folder.
     See Important below!
2a: The first time the file is opened, 4 questions will be displayed where you can either choose the suggested one or enter
your own settings, they are store name, folder where the Item List file is saved, name of the Item List file and name of the
text viewer program used to display and print the Item List,
3a: Open the Settings sheet and change the predefined settings as desired. (Double-click in column B to change.)
4a: Enter your Items in column B on the Shopping List sheet in the order they appear in your store or create a text file and
save it as "Store_xxx.dat" where xxx is optional, preferably the name of your store. The first line in the file must
be the store name and the rest the items in the order they appear in your store. After saving the text file, click on the
Store List button and select Open Store List.
Any of these can be changed at any time.

To generate a list, each item to be included must be marked with a quantity, which can be done in 3 different ways:
1b: Select a Quantity cell (column A) and enter the quantity to be purchased.
2b: Double-click on an Item cell (column B) and the quantity will be marked with 1.
3b: Right-click on an Item cell (column B) and you can select a quantity from 1-5 or enter the quantity manually.
The list can then be saved, displayed and printed with the selected text program and reloaded later.

Other functions:
A created shopping list can be saved, reloaded, changed and printed.
If the function is activated, the shopping list can be deleted after printing and the current one is then archived with the date added to the file name.
By creating several different store lists, the same product list can be used for different stores.
Right-clicking in the same column as a button does the same thing as clicking the button, except for Exit and Store List.
The rest are pretty self-explanatory according to the text on the buttons or the description on the Settings page

If changes has been done on Settings don't save the application with the Excel Save-button but use the Exit button instead so the Settings file on the disk is also saved.

Download the Excel file (version 2.52 en).

Important:
1: Macros must be enabled in Excel.
2: If Excel warns about the file comes from the Internet, enable changes with the button at the top (may differ between Excel versions), save the file and restart.
3: If the Excel macro complains that an object is missing, it is probably a file that is missing. Download this document. Open and follow the instructions,

To update to a newer version:
1c: If not done before, save the Store List (Items) from the old version (Store List button).
2c: Copy the new Excel file over the old file.
3c: If the old version had been previously saved due to changes of either the Store List or Settings all settings will be restored automatically.
If not, the 4 questions according to step 2a must be answered again and, if not default, Settings must done again.
4c: Load the saved Store List (Store List button).

5c: Create a new shopping list or exit.
